30 Jul 2026, PROBABLE IDENTIFICATION [SRC-124][TREE]: she is the faint-named transferee of KAREEMOERHOEK (PAR-000070), deed 13528 of 20.12.1937 (OWN-000063) - "born Oosthuizen, married out of community of property to ... Marincowitz" fits her exactly: born Oosthuizen 1879, married GERT JAN OOSTHUIZEN MARINCOWITZ at Cape Town 23 Apr 1918, alive until 1973, and her brother Ernest Albert took Ptn 3 the same day. The only Oosthuizen-born woman married to a Marincowitz alive in 1937. Daughter of Frederick Simon (1856), granddaughter of J.D.J. - so RHEMHOOGTE STAYED IN J.D.J.'S HOUSEHOLD ACROSS THREE GENERATIONS, and Ptn 4 crossed into Marincowitz hands through her marriage: the Oosthuizen-Marincowitz braid, again. [TO VERIFY on deed 13528.]

*** [22 Aug 2026] FRIKKIE WAS TOKKIE'S MOTHER'S FATHER - two steps. *** Frederik Simon 'Frikkie' Oosthuizen (PER-000006, 1856-1936) -> his daughter Anna Margaretha OosthuizenH (PER-000176, 1879-1973) -> her son Gert Annis Oosthuizen MarincowitzH 'Tokkie' (PER-000007, 1919-2003). That is why Tokkie carries OOSTHUIZEN as a given name: it is his mother's maiden surname, in the ordinary Cape way.

*** AND THE TIE IS DOUBLED, THROUGH TWO BROTHERS. *** Tokkie's FATHER, Gert Jan Oosthuizen MarincowitzL (PER-000023, 1875-1952), carries the same surname as a given name for the same reason: HIS mother was Catharina Maria OosthuizenL (PER-000022, b.1846), daughter of GERT ADRIAAN OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000127, 1820-1879). Frikkie's own father was JACOBUS DANIEL JOHANNES OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000004, 1823-1903). Gert Adriaan and Jacobus Daniel Johannes are BOTH sons of Ockert Almero OosthuizenL and Adriana Cecilia VenterM.

So BOTH of Tokkie's parents descend from Ockert Almero and Adriana Cecilia, by two different sons, and he is their great-great-grandson twice over. This is the pedigree collapse 9 warns about, in one person - and it is the reason the Marincowitz name arrives on this ground already carrying Oosthuizen inside it.

IT DOES, AND THE DESCENT IS ONE STEP. *** Beatrix ANNIS Oosthuizen (PER-000419), born 19 October 1883, is the younger sister of ANNA MARGARETHA OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000176, born 5 October 1879), who married Gert Jan Oosthuizen MarincowitzL in 1918 and was TOKKIE'S MOTHER. Gert ANNIS Oosthuizen Marincowitz was named with his own mother's sister's name. *** AND THE REGISTER SHOWS WHERE IT CAME FROM. *** Entry 98's three witnesses are all van der Westhuizens of the mother's family and they account for all four of the twins' names: Hendrik Jacobus for HENDRIK JACOBUS, Beatrix for BEATRICE HENRIETTE, and Annis for ANNA MARGARETHA VAN DER WESTHUISEN. One item from it is reproduced at p.6, a travelling permit credited 'Scrapbook: Anna OosthuizenM, 1902'. FIVE THINGS FIT AND NONE OF THEM IS PROOF. (1) Anna M. is Anna Margaretha. (2) OOSTHUIZEN WAS HER OWN NAME DURING THE WAR - she did not marry until 23 April 1918, so a scrapbook credited to Anna M. Oosthuizen in 1902 is credited to her maiden name, which is what a wartime compiler would have written. (3) She was twenty to twenty-three across 1899-1902, which is the age that keeps a scrapbook. (4) She lived until 3 December 1973, long enough to hand it on. (5) HER SON IS ONE OF THE BOOK'S OWN INFORMANTS: Tokkie Marincowitz (PER-000007) is interviewed at p.36, and the author, Helena MarincowitzM (PER-000945), married into that same family. A scrapbook reaching the Fransie Pienaar Museum through her son and her son's in-laws is the shortest route there is. IT IS STILL A NAME AND A DATE, WHICH 9 SAYS IS NOT AN IDENTIFICATION. At least one other Anna M. Oosthuizen was alive in the district through the war - PER-000157, Anna Magdalena OosthuysenL, 1852-1936 - and Anna Magdalena is as good a reading of 'Anna M.' as Anna Margaretha is. An Oosthuizen kept a scrapbook through the war with press cuttings, envelopes, stamps and permits, and it is in a museum an hour from Prince Albert. What is in it, and which Oosthuizen was she?

Where does STO-0015 and Tokkie's own page say that his second name is his mother's sister's, and that it reaches back through Anna Margaretha van Jaarsveld? Nowhere yet. Is 'Annis' a contraction of Anna, or the independent old form of Agnes?

What would settle it A second register entry writing 'Annis' in this family, or one writing the same person as 'Anna'. Either decides the contraction.
