Parents Ockkert Oosthuijzen and Susanna Catharina van TonderM; born 16 November 1803, where this row carried a bare 1803. Godfather her brother Ockert Almero, seventeen. L6M6-WDW'. FIX-0014 carries it back to FamilySearch. THE OLD READING IS RECORDED HERE AND NOT ERASED: Susanna Maria is what FS L6M6-WDW and this project said until today, and the likeliest source of it is the mother's Susanna Catharina two lines up the page.
[same day] AND THE PROJECT ALREADY HELD THE OTHER HALF OF THE PROOF: PER-000295, created from the 1809 inventory on 29 July, has named her Sara Maria all along with a [TO VERIFY] against FamilySearch. Two originals agree. The two rows are one person and want merging.

SRC-516, the Swellendam register, confirms Sara Maria and FIX-0014 carries the correction to FamilySearch. One child, two documents. Moved across: flourished_edtf=1809.

A LIKELY THIRD PAIR: Gerrit Adriaan married Petronella Catharina SchoemanM and Pieter Marthinus married Catharina Elisabeth SchoemanM. Neither Schoeman has a recorded parent here, so whether they were sisters is UNTESTED - and the pattern is exactly why it must be tested rather than assumed. An eighth tie runs through the Bothas: Susanna Johanna married Jan Hendrik BothaL, whose mother was a HESTER VENTER.
THE TIMING IS TIGHT. The Venter marriage of October 1807 and the Strydom marriage of March 1808 are FIVE MONTHS APART, and the father died in April 1809. The two alliances were made in the last eighteen months of his life and were still being made fifteen years later.
WHAT IT EXPLAINS: Rondabel. David Jan StrydomH held it from 1841 and it was with Jan Adriaan OosthuizenL by 1868 - and David Jan was married to Jan Adriaan's AUNT. See STO-0043.

[FAMILY] Might be worth looking into the strydoms as well - seems they were close to oosthuizens. How close, and does the Strydom connection predate the Koup?
What would settle it Whether the Strydoms held loan places in the same veldcornetcy, and whether the Oosthuizen-Strydom marriages predate 1809.
