*** [20 Aug 2026, SRC-093] HE WAS DEAD BY APRIL 1802 AND LEFT EIGHT CHILDREN, WHO INHERIT IN HIS PLACE AS THE NINTH HEIR. *** The inventory names them and, unusually, says where each was living: Hendrik Christoffel Marthinus and Jacobus Ockert with their uncle Pieter Cornelis Oosthuyzen; Marthinus, Stephanus and Catharina with JOHANNES MATTHEUS CALITZ; Andries with JACOBUS SCHMIDT DE KOK; and Fredrik and Dina Carolina with THE STIEFVADER J. J. SCHMIDT. EIGHT ORPHANS ACROSS FOUR HOUSEHOLDS, and a widow who had remarried. His own estate was still being administered by the Weeskamer in 1802 and carried Rd 100 of the parents' money.
[2026-09-23, SRC-670] *** HIS OWN TWO SHEETS: MOOC8/23.4 AND 23.3. *** Died before 20 January 1799 'aen den Zwarteberg ter plaetse by Jacob van der Bank' (his sister Jacoba Cornelia's husband), with 'geen plaats of eijgendom'; three wives, Maria Elisabeth Kock, Hester Gouws and the widow Johanna Jacomina Calitz; the eight children with ages that MOOC8/24.27 lists again in 1802. The Weeskamer inventory of 22 January 1800 was taken at his brother Pieter Cornelis's place, de Kleine Doornrivier agter de Platte Kloof (PAR-000340). He owed his father Rd 100 on a bond and Johan Hendrik Christoffel Oosthuijsen Rd 110. Which Swartberg [TO VERIFY]; the household's other places are on the Touwsberg. His son Marthinus M:zn married Gerrit Johannes's daughter Dina Carolina (MOOC8/57.36a) and sold a third of Buffelsvlei to their uncle in 1828 (MOOC8/44.45).
