Supplied by , as a screenshot beside FamilySearch LHV6-M8T, with 'she died - her own venterskloof'. THE NOTICE, as read: '1. Maria Christina Hattingh born Venter | 2. [Birth-place] not known | 3. [Parents] W.A. Venter, Christina Wilhelmina Venter | 4. [Age] 89 year[s] | 5. [Condition] Farmer | 6. [Married/Widow] (the form's words struck through, no entry read) | 7. [Day of decease] 6th July 1875 | 8. [Where died] Her own Venterskloof in the Division of Prince Albert | 9. [Children] Christiaan Hattingh, Willem Jacobus Hattingh, Adriaan Hattingh, Anna Catharina, Elizabeth | 10. [Property] Movable, to the value of about £150'. The mother is written with her married surname. WHAT IT ESTABLISHES: a daughter of Willem Venter held a farm called Venterskloof in Prince Albert and died on it, calling it her own, in 1875. Venters Kloof No. 168 (PAR-000091) is the farm: the Annex No. 183 was ungranted Crown land until after 1913 (DOC-0133). Her children match FamilySearch's five for her marriage to Christiaan Hattingh (KPSQ-FKH), married Cape Town 22 March 1801 [FS]. Age 89 puts her birth in 1785/86; De Villiers baptises her 16 December 1786 (SRC-656). The collection and image need recording before this is cited in full [TO VERIFY].
