An arithmetic derivation and an original meeting on one date is as firm as this project gets. | A MIDDLE NAME FOR HIS FATHER: Stephanus JACOBUS Botma, where FamilySearch and SRC-597 carry him as Stephanus Botma and SRC-601 as 'Stephanus Botma, Steph:s Son'. Recorded, not applied to display_name [TO VERIFY]. | TWELVE HEIRS, and two daughters marry BOTES men. That is the surname on the oldest stone in the Botma burial ground on Vredendal (Engela Susara Niehaus, born Botes, d.1886) and the surname of his great-grandson's first wife. The Botma-Botes tie is a generation older than this project had it. Two other daughters marry Botma men.
