Research notes
[11 Aug 2026, SRC-411] IMPORTED FROM THE SON'S family-tree UNDER A NARROW RULE. [FAMILY] The file is a reference to consult, not a tree to ingest, and the only people to take from it are HIS OWN DIRECT ANCESTORS - scoped that afternoon to the FOUR PATERNAL LINES of his four grandparents, father to father, and nothing before the 1650s.. Six people in those four lines were missing and this is one of them. NAME, YEARS AND THE FATHER-LINK ONLY. No place: the same file was checked against four people this project corrected from original documents the same day and had the older wrong value on ALL FOUR, so it is ranked as a compiled tree and not as evidence. VAN DER MERWE line. The father of Schalk Willem van der MerweL 1735-1778, who is the earliest van der Merwe this project already held.
These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
