TWO SOURCES THAT HAVE NEVER MET AGREE: Laura Mitchell's 'Belongings' (Columbia UP, 2008) ch. 5 tells this family's story in prose, and the private tree carries the dates. Neither cites the other. Huguenot refugee, father of Anne. He died 16 July 1688, the year the family reached the Cape on the Schelde - so within months of arriving, if not on the voyage. [TO VERIFY]
