[20 Aug 2026, SRC-533 + the private tree] DIRECT ANCESTOR, admitted under scope rule R3 which takes direct ancestry back unbounded. TWO SOURCES THAT HAVE NEVER MET AGREE: Laura Mitchell's 'Belongings' (Columbia UP, 2008) ch. 5 tells this family's story in prose, and the private tree carries the dates. Neither cites the other. HUGUENOT. Mitchell: she came on the SCHELDE in 1688 aged seven, with her brother Abraham and her sister Elisabeth, and married at fifteen or sixteen; she bore her first child at sixteen and her seventeenth at forty-four. The tree's birth of 18 Feb 1681 makes her seven in 1688 and fifteen at her marriage on 26 Feb 1696 - the two sources agree to the year without citing each other. Mitchell spells her PREVOT.
