Gert Adriaan Janse van Vuuren
active 1863 · Janse van Vuuren line
No birth date is recorded for this person. The family puts an outer limit on it: born no later than 1856, because their mother born 1814, at most 42 at the birth. That rests on an assumption about ordinary childbearing ages, not on a document. It is an upper bound and not a birth year, and nothing in the model records it as one.

Research notes
[SRC-249] Fifth-named child on his father's 1863 death notice. THE NAME IS THE INTERESTING PART: his father's sister Catharina Adriana (PER-000605) married GERT ADRIAAN OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000127), so a van Vuuren boy is carrying his uncle-by-marriage's name. Under the Cape naming pattern the later sons go to uncles, which is the pattern doing exactly what it should - and it is independent support for the Oosthuizen marriage being close family rather than a distant tie.
These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
