[SRC-249] Named as the deceased's father in the 1863 death notice, which is what fixes this generation. Married Adriana Hermina KockH on 25 January 1801. He is a CANDIDATE for the "Martinus van VeurenM" for whom Wilgamount was surveyed in August 1833 - Martinus is the everyday form of Johannes Marthinus - but that is a proposal, not a finding, and his son of the same name is the rival candidate. C. Lennox Stretch surveyed three farms for three van Veurens in AUGUST 1833: Uitnood No. 147 for PETRUS VAN VEUREN SENIOR, Oorlogs Kloof No. 172 for LUCAS VAN VEUREN recorded as "P. Zoon", and Wilgamount for a MARTINUS VAN VEUREN. Are they one family, and is any of them kin to CATHARINA ADRIANA JANSE VAN VUUREN [PER-000605], whose two-year-old son lies in the Uitnood farm cemetery in 1842?
