Research notes

[DIAGRAM] The man Oorlogs Kloof No. 172 was surveyed for. SG Dgm 356/1833 (DOC-0073) reads "Surveyed for Lucas Van Veuren \"P. Zoon.\"", and the farm was titled to him on Bf.W.Q.5-30 on 15 April 1841, one of the batch of titles issued across this district that day. "P. ZOON" IS A PATRONYMIC, not part of the surname: it says he is P.'s son. Petrus van Veuren SeniorM (PER-001380) held Uitnood No. 147 next door, surveyed the same month by the same surveyor, so Petrus is the obvious P. and this reads as father and son. NOT PROVEN, and the two farms are not even adjacent - Haggas sits between them, and both border it. See LEAD-0054. HE HAD NO ROW IN THIS MODEL UNTIL 1 AUG 2026, which is why Oorlogs Kloof was drawn grey on the map: the colouring reads the ownership parties, the farm had no ownership record of any kind, and so the largest single holding in this part of the district had no family attached to it at all.

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
