Research notes

[3 Aug 2026, SRC-247] NEW TO THE MODEL, and it arrived through a neighbour's door. The 1916 diagram of its Portion 2 states the farm's origin in one line: Cyferfontein was "granted to J.L. Strydom on the 15th April 1841" - THE SAME DAY as the dozen grants that STO-0007 is built on. Another farm on that day, and another Strydom: DOC-0024 records Rondabel granted on perpetual quitrent to David Jan StrydomM (Daniel son) on 15 April 1841. Whether J.L. and David Jan are kin is not established here. THE FILENAME HINT SAID 112 AND THE DOCUMENT SAYS 115. The document wins, and the cadastre and the geography both back it: farm 115 is CYFERFONTEIN, farm 112 is MINNIES KRAAL, and the diagram gives Klipgat as the WESTERN boundary - Klipgat is farm 114, which sits exactly where a farm numbered 115 should adjoin. Recorded so the hint is not silently overwritten.
