Research notes
[SRC-072] Parent farm of Botterkraal, which the Deeds Office describes as "Ptn. 2 (Boter Kraal) of the farm Jansenskraal No 104".
[3 Aug 2026, SRC-214] Portions 6 and 7 of this farm were consolidated into FARM 236 (PAR-000145) in 2016, on deeds T36029/2017 and T36030/2017. The same sheet names Portion 2 as BOTER KRAAL and Portion 3 as BOTERKRAAL OOST - our PAR-000058 carries Portion 2 as 'Botterkraal', so the pair are Boterkraal west and east.
The research behind this page, kept separate from it: dated working notes, open questions, and what is not yet settled.
What the record is missing
-
Nobody is on record as ever having held this
third order · B8 never-held
Jansenskraal No. 104 is in the model and drawn on the map, and carries no ownership record of any kind, not a grant, not a transfer, not an occupation.
What would settle it The Surveyor-General's diagram for the farm number names the grantee and the date; the deed reference on it opens the transfer chain.
Found by breaks.py reading the model against itself, not written by hand,
each one is a shape of missing record, not a fault in the data.
