[10 Aug 2026, SRC-357] BAPTISED AT PRINS ALBERT ON 1 FEBRUARY 1876, born 9 September 1875, register boek 53 bladsy 119. The birth date this model already held is now register-sourced. His parents on the page are Nicolaas James MarincowitzM and Catharina Maria Oosthuisen, which confirms the parentage already here, and the witnesses are his maternal grandparents PER-000127 and PER-000605. WHAT IT DOES TO THE GRAVE DISAGREEMENT: GRV-0362 reads 1875-1932 and this row has him dying 8 October 1952. The register confirms the 1875, so the stone is very probably his and the disagreement is the DEATH year alone, not a case of the wrong man on the grave.

[10 Aug 2026, SRC-358] Baptism 1 February 1876 confirmed a second time, from the DRC register index. Its place reads 'Beaufort, Transvaal', which is the geocoding corruption of 5; the typed 1875-1882 index places him at Prins Albert, boek 53 bladsy 119.

*** [22 Aug 2026] FRIKKIE WAS TOKKIE'S MOTHER'S FATHER - two steps. *** Frederik Simon 'Frikkie' Oosthuizen (PER-000006, 1856-1936) -> his daughter Anna Margaretha OosthuizenH (PER-000176, 1879-1973) -> her son Gert Annis Oosthuizen MarincowitzH 'Tokkie' (PER-000007, 1919-2003). That is why Tokkie carries OOSTHUIZEN as a given name: it is his mother's maiden surname, in the ordinary Cape way.

*** AND THE TIE IS DOUBLED, THROUGH TWO BROTHERS. *** Tokkie's FATHER, Gert Jan Oosthuizen MarincowitzL (PER-000023, 1875-1952), carries the same surname as a given name for the same reason: HIS mother was Catharina Maria OosthuizenL (PER-000022, b.1846), daughter of GERT ADRIAAN OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000127, 1820-1879). Frikkie's own father was JACOBUS DANIEL JOHANNES OOSTHUIZEN (PER-000004, 1823-1903). Gert Adriaan and Jacobus Daniel Johannes are BOTH sons of Ockert Almero OosthuizenL and Adriana Cecilia VenterM.

So BOTH of Tokkie's parents descend from Ockert Almero and Adriana Cecilia, by two different sons, and he is their great-great-grandson twice over. This is the pedigree collapse 9 warns about, in one person - and it is the reason the Marincowitz name arrives on this ground already carrying Oosthuizen inside it. *** [7 Sep 2026, SRC-172 p.36] HE WAS ON RONDAWEL IN 1901, AND HIS SON IS THE WITNESS. *** Tokkie Marincowitz (PER-000007), his son, told Helena MarincowitzM: 'A group of English slept one night under the thorn tree near the "Rondawel" farmhouse. MY FATHER (OOSTHUIZEN MARINCOWITZ) PICKED UP LEE-METFORD CARTRIDGE CASES THERE. They also visited the neighbouring farm Koppieskraal (not where Scheepers was captured) and asked for food.' WHY IT MATTERS: this project holds Tokkie on Rondawel from 1954 (OWN-000101) and holds this man, his father, without a Rondawel tie at all. The son's memory of his father picking cartridge cases off the ground BY THE FARMHOUSE puts the family on that werf in February 1901, half a century before the deed this project starts the story with. IT IS A RESIDENCE AND NOT A TITLE. Picking up cartridge cases at a farmhouse says a man was there; it says nothing about who held the ground, and 1901 sits inside the Oosthuizen-Theron period on Rondabel that S010 already sets out. Recorded as RES-000047 with basis 'family testimony'. [TO VERIFY] against the deeds chain before any ownership claim is made. 'OOSTHUIZEN MARINCOWITZ' IS HOW HIS SON NAMED HIM, and it is this man's own third given name rather than a separate person - Gert Jan OOSTHUIZEN Marincowitz. 5b: the everyday name a family uses is the real one, and here it is a surname carried as a given name down the line, which is why PER-000007, PER-000024, PER-000451 and PER-000651 all carry it too. Treat it exactly as 9 says: never match on it alone. A SECOND ACCOUNT PUTS THE SAME NAME ON KOPPIESKRAAL AND THEY DO NOT OBVIOUSLY AGREE. p.38, Almero Oosthuizen: at Koppieskraal 'Two bachelor brothers, Boy and Oosthuizen Marincowitz, were farming there.' This man married and had children, so 'bachelor' does not fit him unless it describes an earlier period. Either there are two men called Oosthuizen Marincowitz, or one man farmed Koppieskraal before marrying and Rondawel after, or Almero's father misremembered which brother. NOT RESOLVED HERE. What would settle it The current title deed traced backwards, each transfer names the one before it, or the Surveyor-General's subdivision diagrams, which are what usually explain a farm going quiet.

A boundary description for Botterkraal (Jansenskraal Nr. 104 Gdlt 2) names F.S. MarincowitzM, a surveyor stating on the record that this person held the adjoining ground. We do hold Marincowitz tenure elsewhere, but none on this boundary and none at this date.

What would settle it The diagram's own date fixes the window. The quitrent or erfpacht register for that year names the holder of the adjoining place, and an estate inventory will name the farm outright.
