Neither is preferred here. The register entry at boek 53 bladsy 548 settles it and nothing else should - the index is a typed finding aid and the register is the paper.
[10 Aug 2026, SRC-358] THE TWO-DAY DISAGREEMENT RESOLVES TOWARDS THIS MODEL. The DRC register index gives his birth as 18 SEPTEMBER 1878, agreeing with the date held here, against the typed 1875-1882 index's 16.9.1878. Two indexes of the same register disagree by two days and the register page itself, boek 53 bladsy 548, is still the thing that would settle it. Baptism 10 November 1878.
