The citation as it was given
IDENTIFIED BY NAME, DATE AND SPOUSE TOGETHER, which is what 9 requires and what this document rewards. The deceased is "Anna Provo, wed:w wijlen den landbouwer Schalk Willemsz: van der Merve" - our PER-001864 Anne Prevost, married PER-001863 on 26 February 1696; he died 21 March 1740 and her estate was inventoried seven months later. The patronymic Willemsz independently fixes the generation: his father is PER-001861 Willem Schalkz. *** IT ALSO SETS A NAMESAKE TRAP AND THEN DISARMS IT. *** Among the grandchildren it lists "de kinderen van wijlen Pieter van der Merve, met naame Aletta oud 9, Schalk Willemsz: oud 7 en Pieter oud 2" - so a SECOND Schalk Willem van der Merwe was born about 1733, two years before ours (PER-001657, bapt. 9 January 1735, son of Isak). That cousin is the man of MOOC8/16.15, styled "Schalk Willems van der Merwen Pietersz", who held Leeuwen Fontijn in the Bokkeveld. Leeuwenfontein is NOT this family's ground and the patronymic is the only thing that says so. TRANSCRIPTION READ, CITATION [TO VERIFY] against the original folio per 5a-ii.
