Getrouwd in de Ned. Ger. kerk te Prins Albert, door mij A.J.L. HOFMEYR.' Signed F S Botma and M J La Grange; in de tegenwoordigheid van [?W.J. Toutte] and G. M. LA GRANGE. | WHAT IT SETTLES: UNI-000346 to the day, on the original; that HESTER BOTES (PER-001926) WAS DEAD BEFORE 8 SEPTEMBER 1884 - a widower of twenty-four; and that in 1884 the groom LIVED ON SPREEUWFONTEIN, his father's ground (RES-000042) - so the Wilgerfontein years of the circa-1918 photograph came later. | THE WOONPLAATS COLUMN ALSO HINTS AT THE MATCH ITSELF: the bride of GROOT WATERVAL, and the Spreeufontein Remainder carries the name KLEIN WATERVAL (PAR-000025) - if the two Watervals adjoin, this is neighbours marrying, the district's oldest pattern. Which farm Groot Waterval is - Waterval No. 196, Farm 215, or another - is NOT identified: name alone is never enough. | The predikant is A.J.L. HOFMEYR - the same dominee Hofmeyr with whom the young Almero Oosthuizen boarded in the 1892 schoolterm (S001).
