Blanckenberg. | *** THREE THINGS THIS SETTLES. *** (1) THE TREE'S DATE DECODED: PER-000749's death '../1789-04-09' is exactly this inventory's date - dead by the day the Weeskamer taxed him. Pieter/Petrus is one name. (2) THE 1786 GODPARENTS ARE TWO COUPLES FROM THIS LIST: Petrus Jacobus's Paarl godparents (SRC-575, WIT-0357 to 0360) - Tjaart van der Watt, Maria Elisabeth Venter, Jan Louis du Plesie, Hester Venter - are the child's father's TWO SISTERS AND THEIR HUSBANDS, named here as married pairs. The kin-signal of 5's baptism rule, decoded to the person. (3) THE ESTATE IS MOBILE WEALTH: as transcribed, NO opstal, loan place or fixed property appears - one old wagon, 500 sheep, 75 cattle, three enslaved people, and Rd 2,335 IN CASH of a Rd 3,642 total. Ab intestato division gives the widow half and the eight children about Rd 227 each. A son who helped take this inventory came away with a portion in cash and no family ground to keep him - eighteen months later his Paarl baptisms stop, and by 1792 he is in the Sneeuberg. Frans's trigger hypothesis (LEAD-0302) is strongly supported, though 'no land' rests on this transcription being complete - the original images would close that. | Note also the younger brothers JOHANNES HENRICUS (15) and JAN ADRIAAN (10): Jan Louis later gives sons both names, the vernoemingspatroon reaching brothers. And a PETRUS ALBERTUS VENTER married at Colesberg in 1839 beside the family (SRC-577 entry 20) - same name as the brother here, NOT identified, 9. | [24 Aug 2026, later] FS'S SIBLING LIST CROSS-VALIDATES THE EIGHT: FS gives Petrus and Martha TEN children, and the two absent from this inventory are exactly the two FS shows dead by April 1789 - Petronella (1759-1770) and Charel Daniel (1777-1789). The ages check too: Johannes Henricus b 1774 is the 'oud 15', Jan Adriaan b 1779 the 'oud 10'. An inventory and an index agreeing child for child, having never been compared.

Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
