Transcribed as read: 'Den 19 deto / Petrus Jacobus / v Jan Lois Venter / m Johanna Jacomina Smit / g Tjaart van der Watt, Maria Elisabeth Venter, Jan Lois du Plesie, Hester Venter'. Baptised 19 March 1786 - 'deto' resolves to Maart because 'den 22 Maart' follows two entries later; the year from the opening's births, Aug 1785 to Feb 1786. *** THE ENTRY CARRIES NO GEBOOREN MARGIN. *** The entries around it do (1 Aug 1785, 18 Aug 1785, 25 Aug 1785, 25 Feb 1786, 1 Dec 1785); his is blank. So a birth date of 1786-03-19 anywhere downstream is THE BAPTISM DATE RECORDED AS A BIRTH - which is what this model carried until today, and what put the pair on the impossible-birth-spacing list. The page's own lag pattern (its baptisees were born one to eight months earlier) puts his birth in 1785, and FamilySearch L4Q7-841 shows 1785. Godparents are VENTER KIN - his brother Jacobus Daniel's are the MOTHER'S family (SRC-576), the kin-signal 5's baptism rule describes.
