The citation as it was given

SEVEN POINTS. Recorded as his, with his own reasoning, and not merged into the record as fact where it disagrees with what is held here. | (1) NOT TWINS. He confirms Jacobus and Wynand were not twins - which settles a disagreement this project already carried: SRC-179, the handwritten van Zyl family history, states outright "TWEELING" and gives both births as 6/12/1809. The checked Bloedrivier list gives Jacobus as *20.9.1809 and this model has Wynand at 3 June 1808. The handwritten sheet is wrong on both counts. | (2) THE NAMING ORDER RAN BACKWARDS IN THIS HOUSEHOLD. His statement of the rule matches 5b - first son for the father's father, first daughter for the mother's mother, second son for the mother's father, second daughter for the father's mother. But for these two it is reversed: WYNAND, the eldest, is named for his MOTHER'S father, and JACOBUS, the second son, for his FATHER'S father. A worked counter-example to the pattern from inside the family it is used on. | (3) BLOEDRIVIER. The 27 July 1840 second marriage was a civil confirmation IN A. H. POTGIETER'S LAAGER, so he was active in the commandos. Jan Bantjes, Pretorius's secretary, kept the daily journal and Jacobus's name is in it. J. P. Oberholzer compiled a full name list from about fifteen sources, checked against Voortrekker archive documents, questioning a few names but confirming Jacobus van Zyl. | (4) He also has fourteen children for Ockert Almero and Adriana Cecilia, from Ockert's death certificate, but believes there were TWO MORE. Most websites say eight or ten and the names differ. This model links fourteen. Open. | (5) His own method, worth borrowing: list children by birth date in order and look for gaps and overlaps, then follow them up. | (6) Some Oosthuizen children's birthplace is given as the farm "SWARTBERG". Not a farm this model holds under that name. | (7) THE VAN ZYLS FOLLOWED THE OOSTHUIZENS TO THE MARICO, AND IN NUMBERS. Ockert Jacobus Oosthuizen, Johanna Jacomina Oosthuizen's cousin, established the farms Klaarstroom and Tweefontein in the Marico; EIGHT OF THE FOURTEEN CHILDREN of Wynand and Jacomina van Zyl then settled in the same district. Casper, the eldest, married a daughter of Jan Viljoen of Vergenoegd - a Klaarstroom neighbour - as early as 1852, and over twenty years the others married into Marico farms: Klaarstroom, Tweefontein, Rhenosterfontein, Doornplaats, Weltevreden and others. Johanna Jacomina went to live on Klaarstroom and died and is buried there. Her brothers OCKERT JACOBUS and GERT ADRIAAN Oosthuizen settled there too. [TO VERIFY]
