Entries 90 and 91 of the Tulbagh register, side by side: Pieter Venter baptises his youngest son Jan Adriaan, and in the next entry stands godparent to his granddaughter Catharina Petronella, Jan Louis's first daughter - uncle and niece at the font together, about the same age. The earliest occasion this record holds for the Venter line, and the boy's own sterfkennis ninety-one years later names the ground: born district Olifantsrivier.
