ENTRY 90, transcribed as read: 'kind JAN ADRIAAN / vader PIETER VENTER / moeder MARTHA DU PLESSIS / get. Jan Adriaan Venter, Cornelia Smit, Paul Venter en Magdalena Maria Venter / den 24 dito [October]'. ENTRY 91, directly below, same day: 'kind CATHARINA PETRONELLA / vader JAN LOUIS VENTER / moeder JOHANNA JACOMINA SMIT / get. PIETER VENTER EN MARTHA DU PLESSIS, Jacobus Smit en Catharina van Dyk'. *** TWO GENERATIONS AT ONE FONT: Pieter Venter baptises his own youngest son and, in the next entry, stands godparent to his granddaughter - Jan Louis's first daughter (PER-000610, b 1779 per the tree, which is what dates the page). Uncle and niece baptised together, about the same age. *** The godparent JAN ADRIAAN VENTER of entry 90 is an ELDER namesake the child is named for - not identified against the model's namesakes. JACOBUS SMIT stands here for the granddaughter as he later stands at Paarl in 1788 and Graaff-Reinet in 1792 - the Smit kin thread running twenty years. | Places the Jan Louis Venter household in the Tulbagh orbit about 1779, BEFORE its Paarl years (SRC-575/576/579): the road now reads Olifantsrivier/Tulbagh country -> Paarl -> Sneeuberg -> the Koup.
