Jan de Bruin jr, son of the Rondabel household, baptised at Graaff-Reinet
9 April 1815 · family · Graaff-Reinet
Born 13 December 1814 - matching to the day the 1823 Rondabel inventory's entry for the minor heir Jan. Register blad 328, baptised 9 April 1815. Witnesses: Hendrik Johannes de Bruin & Johanna Jacoba Coetzer, Theunis Jacobus van der Merwe & Hester Catharina de Bruin - the eldest son (b.1795), and the 1802 daughter who is alive here but gone from the 1823 heirs list. The entry directly below is the same family: Christina Elisabeth (geb. 7 Feb 1815), daughter of Hendrik Johannes de Bruin x Johanna Jacoba Coetzer - father and son baptising children on the same day, with a Coetzer web as witnesses (the grandmother was Maria Anna Coetzer). Right-margin ward tag on Jan's entry: ABRAHAM GRIJLING (Greyling); a STEPHANUS VAN WYK tags an entry on the same page - the veldcornet name that took the 1818 du Plessis inventory on Rondabel.
