Ockert Oosthuijzen dies and his youngest is taken in by his eldest son
about 1809-04 · family
[SRC-074] Ockert Oosthuijzen (1755-1809) died at Citrusdal about April 1809, leaving thirteen children. FamilySearch records the youngest, Daniel Jacobus Johannes (b.1807), as a FOSTER child of his eldest married brother Jacobus Johannes and Anna Magdalena Strijdom - who had married at Uitenhage the year before. The record rarely says this much about how a family absorbed a death.
