Ockert Oosthuijzen dies and his youngest is taken in by his eldest son

[SRC-074] Ockert Oosthuijzen (1755-1809) died on de Modder Fonteyn about April 1809, leaving thirteen children. FamilySearch records the youngest, Daniel Jacobus Johannes (b.1807), as a FOSTER child of his eldest married brother Jacobus Johannes and Anna Magdalena Strijdom - who had married at Uitenhage the year before. The record rarely says this much about how a family absorbed a death. | [18 Aug 2026, CONSISTENCY RUN] The Citrusdal identification is no longer carried as fact. The 1809 estate was taken before A.A. FAURE, LANDDROST OF SWELLENDAM (SRC-465), whose authority was territorial and did not reach Tulbagh or Clanwilliam, where Citrusdal lay. See LEAD-0220.
