Ockert Almero Oosthuizen the elder dies on de Modder Fonteyn

The generation that did not go east. He married at Swellendam in 1783 and died in the Olifants River valley about April 1809 - while his son was already baptising children at Graaff-Reinet, seven hundred kilometres away. The family remember a property at Citrusdal that still stands. Thirteen children survived him, and one of them had already left for the frontier. | [18 Aug 2026, CONSISTENCY RUN] The Citrusdal identification is no longer carried as fact. The 1809 estate was taken before A.A. FAURE, LANDDROST OF SWELLENDAM (SRC-465), whose authority was territorial and did not reach Tulbagh or Clanwilliam, where Citrusdal lay. See LEAD-0220. TITLE CHANGED, was 'dies at Citrusdal'. The estate names the farm and the river and no town. [19 Aug 2026] UNPINNED FROM CITRUSDAL. The prose was corrected on 18 Aug and the STRUCTURAL LINK WAS NOT, so the site went on saying Citrusdal on the roads page, the places page and the person page while the notes underneath said the identification was withdrawn. De Modder Fonteyn's location is NOT ESTABLISHED: the estate was taken before A.A. FAURE, LANDDROST OF SWELLENDAM (SRC-465), whose authority was territorial and did not reach Tulbagh or Clanwilliam where Citrusdal lay. 5 - an unresolved place gets no pin, because a wrong pin is worse than a missing one.
