'Bovenstaande Figuur A.B.C.D.A. inhoudende 30 Morgen 240 q.t Roeden voor SCHALK WILLEMSE VAN DER MERWE door Cochius gemeeten en door my gekarteerd. (Get.) K.J. Slotzboo.' Copied from the diagram relating to Title Deed O.S.F. 2-160 dated 21.9.1717. 'Oude Land' lies to the north-west of the figure. *** IT MATCHES MOOC8/6.51 ON THE DAY. *** That 1740 inventory (SRC-698) gives Wittenberg as held 'volgens twee daarvan sijnde kaarten en erfbrieven, de datis 30 Januarij 1712, en 21:e September 1717'. This is the second of those two, by number and by date, and it names the man. The farm this project recorded from an inventory is now on its own survey. *** AND IT IS CANCELLED, WHICH IS WHY EVERY CADASTRE SEARCH FAILED. *** Stamped GEKANSELLEER: 'Hierdie kaart is GEKANSELLEER. Sien Plaas Nr. 1236 (S.V.T. 39832/76)', with 'included in dgm 6588/- farm 1236' written across the figure. Wittenberg No. 185 no longer exists as a parcel; its ground is inside PAARL FARM 1236. A current-parcel extract cannot hold a cancelled farm, and that is the whole reason WITTENBERG returned zero from the Paarl geojson while the Surveyor-General's own NAME INDEX lists it.

Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
