[22 Sep 2026] Quoted by Frans in conversation from the thesis: 'Nadat Jan Oosthuysen (jr.) feitlik 'n kwarteeu op die plaas Webedagt aan die Rietfontein geboer het, was hy teen April 1778 in sodanige armoedige toestand dat hy geensins meer sy agterstallige geld van 13 jaar en 11 maande kon betaal nie. Hy het 'n lankmoedige vergunning van die regering verkry om die betaling daarvan te onderbreek, mits hy sodra maar enigsints daartoe instaat kom te geraaken dit weer sou aansuiwer.' Appel cites RLR 18, 'Oude Wildschutte Boek', p. 19. SECONDARY, citing a primary register this project has not seen.
