The citation as it was given

[17 Sep 2026] Found searching MOOC8 for Louis van Wyk. MOOC8 holds NO estate of a Louis van Wyk around 1805 in the published transcriptions (MOOC8 61-70 and 76+ are not transcribed, so an estate filed there would not show). This is his WIFE's: 'Martha Becker ten voordeele van haare overgeblevene man den burger LOUIS VAN WYK D'OUDE' and seven children: Stephanus Johannes; Helena Dorothea x Bernard Rudolph Buijs; Hester x Johannes Christiaan Lessing; Louis Johannes, 16; Martha Jacoba, 8; Adriaan David, 6; Andries Petrus, 3. Inventoried by Jacob Venter, Jan Harmse Steenkamp and J.S. Buijs; a list signed 'Sneuwberg, den 2 October 1800'; estate Rd 4022:6 nett; 'Voor den opgaaf: L: van Wijk'. By the blog (SRC-651) Louis van Wyk DE JONGE (b. 1755) married Martha Bekker and moved his attestation to Graaff-Reinet in 1792, so this is very likely he, now 'd'oude' with a son Louis Johannes; the Sneeuwberg is Graaff-Reinet country. He is Susanna Catharina van Tonder's first cousin. CONFIRMED 17 Sep 2026 against FamilySearch L8RR-TXJ (screenshots from Frans): his children by Martha Bekker (LH46-TZ4) match the inventory's names and 1800 ages exactly, so this is Louis van Wyk de jonge (PER-002073).
