The citation as it was given
The whole of the table, read off a faint typed slip (the sheet is filed upside down): DEELFONTEIN 3813 morgen 530 sq. rds. 1906-92-6675 Ptn. 1 MARAISDAL 1013 morgen 520 sq. rds. 1911-80-5045 Ptn. 2 | TWO PORTIONS, BOTH NAMED, and the names were already on the front of the sheet thirty-four years before the first of them was cut. Deelfontein went in 1906 and Maraisdal in 1911. The reference strings are transcribed exactly as written and NOT interpreted - they read like year-volume-number and are most likely the diagram or transfer numbers, but nothing on the sheet says so. | The arithmetic: 3813 + 1013 = 4,826 morgen deducted from a parent of about 8,827, leaving a remainder near 4,001 morgen. That is what confirms the parent's leading digit (SRC-595).
Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
