Anna Tobia Jeanne Oosthuizen born Joubert (PER-000078, LDQC-RYY), Frans's paternal grandmother, writes of coming from the Boland in 1946 as a bride ('bruid van 'n skaapboer in die omgewing van Klaarstroom' - she married Hennie, PER-000017, on 25 May 1946, UNI-000005, the roll of the article matching the union to the month), of her father-in-law Almero Oosthuizen of Droogekloof (PER-000016) and his 1926/1929 drought stories, of the worker ANNA HENDRIKS (PER-001920) who demanded fat meat when there was none, and of asking the old man to write his memories down - WHICH IS THE PROVENANCE OF THE DIARY SRC-586 EXTRACTS: the diary exists because she asked for it.
