What is used here is what she says about people long dead. | SHE IS A PRIMARY WITNESS TO THE FAMILY NAMES, not a researcher: "Ockie Oosthuizen and his wife Lettie were my great-grandparents, and the three grandchildren shown in the bottom right hand corner are my mother, my aunt and my uncle." Family memory at one remove from the people themselves, written in 2011 about photographs she had known since childhood. | THE LETTER IS A CORRECTION. It was written to the owner of Onse Rus to fix two errors on that guesthouse's web page - a misspelling of Almero and a wrong identification of the children.
