The citation as it was given

TEN MORGEN 210 SQUARE ROODS - drawn at 30 Cape Roods to the inch, sixteen times the scale of its neighbours, because that is what it takes to show it. "Portion LOT A of the farm Klipgat granted to the Estate of the late Louis Daniel Francois van Zyl on the 9th Sept 1911", transferred on deed 8822 of 15 November 1916 to JACOBUS J.P. VAN ZYL - the SAME MAN who took Klipgat A on deed 8821 the same day. TWO SMALL SOLID SQUARES ARE DRAWN ON IT, and a hatched watercourse or dam runs through it. On a ten-morgen piece inside a 17 000 ha farm, buildings and water mean this is the WERF - the same pattern as the nine morgen of arable cut first out of Klaarstroom (SRC-224). The homestead gets its own title. Bounded NW by Rivervale, E by Klipgat A, S and W by the Remainder.

Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
