Research notes
[30 Sep 2026, SRC-702] From the FamilySearch detail view WIFE OF PER-001823 AND MOTHER OF PER-001657, married 19 April 1732 at Stellenbosch. Named in her own mother's estate as well: MOOC8/5.24 of 15 November 1729 (SRC-703) lists 'Cicilia oud 14' among the nine children of Aletta van der Merwe, last widow of Claas Jansz van RensburgM - which puts her birth about 1715 and agrees. So her mother was herself a van der Merwe.
[30 Sep 2026] SURNAME FILED AS 'Janse van Rensburg', WHICH IS NOT HOW FAMILYSEARCH SPELLS IT. FS gives 'Janse van Rensburgh' with a terminal h, and the display_name keeps that form because 5a-i makes FamilySearch the house spelling for a PERSON and 5a's sixth rule forbids normalising away what a record said. But the SURNAME column is what groups people on the index, and this project already holds thirteen people under 'Janse van Rensburg'; a singleton spelling would have put her in a panel of her own, apart from her own family. The snapshot test caught it - it reported people.html gaining a panel and the deploy stopped.
