Research notes
[7 Aug 2026, FROM FAMILYSEARCH] SHE IS A SISTER OF THE SAAIRIVIER WOMAN. Born Prince Albert 26 October 1860, married 9 August 1880, died Prince Albert 17 August 1945. Her parents are Hendrik Willem Storm NiehausM [PER-001527] and Engela Susara Botes [PER-001526] - the couple of the Vredendal stone - which makes her a full sister of Gertruida Elizabeth Jacoba [PER-001561], who lies at Saairivier near Leeu-Gamka. TWO SISTERS, TWO BOTES HUSBANDS, TWO BURIAL GROUNDS 60 KM APART. And the name goes round in a circle: her mother was a Botes who married a Niehaus, and she is a Niehaus who married a Botes, carrying her mother's given names both ways. [FS]
