Research notes

[SRC-111] Held the parent portion of Spreeufontein and Toornits Kraal by Amended Title Deed dated 14 March 1899, out of which Lot C / Portion 5 (PAR-000024) was later surveyed and sold to Jacob A. NiehausM in 1909. [FS L255-BGL, 9 Aug 2026] IDENTIFIED. He is FRANS STEPHANUS BOTMA, born in the ROGGEVELD, Ceres, on 30 December 1834 and DIED AT SPREEUFONTEIN, PRINCE ALBERT, ON 15 APRIL 1908 - so the man who took the amended title to the parent portion in 1899 died on that ground nine years later. Name, farm and dates agree across the two records. Married JOHANNA GEERTRUIDA BRINK (PER-001604) at Stellenbosch, 19 December 1854; nine children, including CORNELIS JACOBUS (PER-001505), who was born on Spreeufontein in 1867 and is buried there. His parents are Lodewyk BothmaM (PER-000037) and Elsje Jacoba MaritzM (PER-001605).

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
