STRONG CANDIDATE for the "M. de BeerM, Veldkornet" who witnessed the Vlakfontein survey on 24 July 1833 and whose field cornetcy the 1834 Varsche Fontein diagram names (PER-000110) - he would have been 34. Father of Zacharias Johannes Hendricus de BeerH, who married Catharina Petronella OosthuizenM at Prince Albert in 1851. [TO VERIFY]
[22 Sep 2026, SRC-656] PARENTS FOUND: De Villiers, Geslacht-register I, has 'Matthijs Andries, gedoopt 28 Juni 1799' as a son of Samuel de BeerM (PER-002079, baptised 1762) and Anna Eleonora de VilliersM (PER-002080). Samuel is very probably the field cornet 'Samuel de BeerM, called the Kweek Valley' of about 1813 (SRC-662). So the field-cornet candidate of 1833 was the son of the field cornet of Kweekvallei and the grandson of its 1762 loan-farm holder Zacharias (PER-000273). [TO VERIFY] against the 1799 baptism entry.
