Research notes

[SRC-074] Sister of Frans's grandmother Anna Tobia Jeanne JoubertM (PER-000078), and the first wife of Tokkie Marincowitz (PER-000007), married at Bellville 25 Aug 1945. Her middle name carries her mother's maiden name, Duminy. Three children. She died in 1965, after which Tokkie became the partner of Frans's maternal grandmother - which is how one man ends up attached to both sides of this family.

[15 Aug 2026] NOEMNAAM RECORDED: Babie. [FAMILY] Tokkie, lettie, babie - those are noemname. Her nursing portrait arrived as "Babie GH82-MDN.jpeg" and the name had gone no further than the filename. Frances Duminy on paper, Babie in the house.

[15 Aug 2026, FAMILY] SHE GREW UP ON A WINE FARM. WHICH FARM IS NOT ESTABLISHED and no name is written into the model on a maybe - Sonop, now Kanu, is Frans's own working hypothesis and he says so himself. LEAD-0202.

The family were photographed at PORTERVILLE about 1920 (MED-000058), which is the only place this project can currently put them.

[16 Aug 2026] SHE WAS A TRAINED NURSE. MED-000088 shows her in uniform - a pinned white veil and a qualification badge at the collar, which is a nurse who has finished her training rather than one in it. She looks to be in her early twenties, so the early 1940s, before she married Tokkie Marincowitz in August 1945. The badge cannot be read and the institution is not guessed at. LEAD-0210. [TO VERIFY]
