[30 Sep 2026, SRC-382 / SRC-263] NAMED ON AN ORIGINAL THIS PROJECT ALREADY HELD. The informant on death notice 121/56 - PER-000762's own 1956 death notice - is "F. J. VAN DER MERWE, adult blood relative, of PLAAS DIKDOORNS NOORD, DISTRIK WILLISTON", and Melville (SRC-263) has the same man as "boer Dikdoorns-Noord, Brandvlei". THE TWO DESCRIPTIONS LOOK LIKE A CONFLICT AND ARE NOT: the farm lies in the FRASERBURG registration division, which is what "Williston district" means here (see 9a on Biesies, recorded as Williston until the diagram was read), and it sits about 13 km from Brandvlei town, which is the postal address a farmer would give. Cadastre, death notice and compiled genealogy therefore all agree. THE NUMBER NEEDS SAYING: the cadastre's FARM_NAME string reads "DIK DOORNS NOORD No. 30" while PARCEL_NO, TAG_VALUE and the PRCL_KEY all carry 516. The key is what pins the polygon and 516 is what the cadastre draws, so 516 is used; the No. 30 label is probably an older numbering and is recorded here rather than silently dropped. Neighbours of the same name: DIK DOORNS ZUID No. 31 (Fraserburg) and DIK DOORNS WEST No. 202 (Calvinia) - do not conflate them.
