Research notes

SG Dgm 1654/1910; transfer deed 8326, 26 Nov 1910. Tiny - a water or building site.

[3 Aug 2026, SRC-220 verso] A SMALL DISAGREEMENT, recorded not resolved. The deduction table on the back of the Portion 1 diagram gives Brand Kraal as 4 morgen 53 square roods and deed 1910.133.8526; this row carries 4 morgen 33. Both readings are of typescript, both are legible, and I cannot tell from here which is right. [TO VERIFY]

[13 Aug 2026] Renamed to the one form this model uses for every portion - the portion's own name, then the parent farm, its number and the portion in brackets - so that a name is legible in a list, a search result and a map popup without the reader having to know which farm number is which. It read "Brand Kraal (Rondabel Ptn 3)" before. Nothing about the ground changed.

The research behind this page, kept separate from it: dated working notes, open questions, and what is not yet settled.

What the record is missing

Found by breaks.py reading the model against itself, not written by hand, each one is a shape of missing record, not a fault in the data. The whole set is on the questions page.
