Research notes
Beacon report for "Vaste Water", portion of Remainder of Middel[water], F.C. Kredouw, Div. of Prince Albert - companion to DOC-0076 (same SG reference, A.332/1923). Written by J. Loubser, Land Surveyor, from Laingsburg, 6 Feb 1923, addressed to the Surveyor-General, Cape Town. "Vide LT plan 1884.25.304 [reference partly unclear], transferred to O.A. Oosthuysen (PER-000324) and J.N. BothaM (PER-000325) etc." Describes beacons S (a monolith), B (built into a stone wall on the river bank) and T (missing, being in the river bed); surveyed on to B and S and checked against another beacon of Lot C and Lot D, finding S and B agree well; triangulated points taken in the river bed rather than erecting a beacon there. [TO VERIFY] Names the grantee "O.A. Oosthuysen" against DOC-0076's own "J.D.J. Oosthuyson" - not reconciled, see PER-000324.
