[17 Sep 2026] [FS LHV6-M8T + SRC-660 death notice + SRC-656] Daughter of Willem VenterL (PER-002076) and Christina Wilhelmina CoertzeM (PER-002077); sister of Jan Adriaan VenterL of Rondavel (PER-000350). Married CHRISTIAAN HATTINGH (KPSQ-FKH, 1772-1848) at Cape Town, 22 March 1801 [FS]. DIED 6 JULY 1875 ON 'HER OWN VENTERSKLOOF IN THE DIVISION OF PRINCE ALBERT', aged 89, a farmer, leaving movables of about £150 (SRC-660). Children on FamilySearch: Christiaan 1802-1868 (LHGS-1WF), Anna Catharina Elisabeth 1804-1878 (LHGP-14X), Willem Jacobus Adriaan 1805 (LHGS-1QB), Adriaan (G6V4-WYR), Elizabeth (G6V4-D47); the death notice names the same five. Birth: FamilySearch gives 1785, De Villiers a baptism of 16 Dec 1786, the notice an age of 89. ON THE GROUND EARLIER: the Beaufort roll of 1822 (SRC-559, line 10) enrols 'CHRISTIAAN HATTING D'OUDE EN MARIA CHRISTINA VENTER' on the veldcornet's page, and VENTERS KLOOF is one of the three loan places written in that page's leenings-plaats column (its line not asserted). KIN: De Villiers makes her father Willem a son of Jan Adriaan VenterL (b. 1730) and Adriana Cecilia VenterM's father Jan Louis a son of Petrus VenterM (b. 1726), brothers, so she and Adriana Cecilia of Middelwater were SECOND COUSINS [SRC-656, OCR-read, TO VERIFY].

Venters Kloof Nr. 168 was worked as far as 1875-07-06, with Maria Christina VenterH (1786-1875) the last owner on record. 151 years follow with nothing. Who held it after that, and is it still one farm?
What would settle it The current title deed traced backwards, each transfer names the one before it, or the Surveyor-General's subdivision diagrams, which are what usually explain a farm going quiet.
