Navorsingsnotas

[TREE] Added 29 Jul 2026 under the people-related-to-the-land rule: child Jacobus Daniel Johannes OosthuizenM (PER-000004). Thin record; dates as in the tree.

30 Jul 2026, PROBABLE IDENTIFICATION [SRC-123][TREE]: he is the "(J.)A.A. Oosthuysen" granted RHEMHOOGTE No.125 with a co-holder on 1.7.1879, deed P.A.Q.2-20 (OWN-000060) - the only adult A.A. Oosthuizen in the tree (aged 29), son of J.D.J. and Sophia Johanna MockeM of Middelwater: the farm north of Middelwater taken by a Middelwater son. TREE CONFLICT noted: the tree also attaches him to a second parent-couple (Ockert Jacobus Johannes OosthuizenM x M.M.J. Pienaar) - one of the two is wrong upstream [TO VERIFY]. Deed itself would confirm the grantee name.

30 Jul 2026 [FS]: NOTE - FamilySearch's 11-child list for J.D.J. x Mocke does NOT include him, consistent with the parent-couple conflict already flagged (the tree also attaches him to Ockert Jacobus Johannes O. x Pienaar). His parentage stays PROBABLE, not proved.

30 Jul 2026 [SRC-126/DOC-0086] PARENTAGE NOW DOUBTED: J.D.J.'s own 1903 death notice lists his five surviving children and ABEL ALBERTUS IS NOT AMONG THEM, though he lived to 1918. Together with FamilySearch's child-list omission, the balance tips to the OTHER parent-couple the tree carries: OCKERT JACOBUS JOHANNES OOSTHUIZEN x M.M.J. PIENAAR. His identification as the 1879 Rhemhoogte grantee (OWN-000060) stands - only the 'son of J.D.J.' reading falls; he was other kin, likely a nephew of the same circle.

30 Jul 2026 [SRC-127/DOC-0087] Now absent from BOTH parents' death notices - Sophia's (1883/85) as well as J.D.J.'s (1903) - while alive both times. As settled as it gets without a baptism: NOT a child of J.D.J. x Sophia Johanna MockeM.

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
