Informant's signature is not legible; his qualification is BEGRAFNISONDERNEMER - an UNDERTAKER, of Hoofstraat, Calvinia. The form carries an identity number, which is recorded in the private research note and deliberately not here. *** WHAT IT SETTLES: THE DEATH DATE. *** 10 October 1961, which is what the model holds and which REFUTES Melville's 1950 (SRC-263). That half of LEAD-0379 is closed. *** WHAT IT IS NOT: THIS IS THE CIVIL REGISTRATION, NOT THE MASTER'S DEATH NOTICE. *** Form B.M.D.2 has no field for immovable property, so it does NOT say what ground he held and does NOT answer LEAD-0341. The document still wanted is the estate file at the Master's office. The two are easy to confuse and were confused here in advance. *** TWO FIELDS ARE WRONG, AND THE INFORMANT IS WHY. *** He is an undertaker, not family, filling a form 73 years after the birth. (1) DATE OF BIRTH 23.10.1888: the model holds 23 November 1888 on SRC-629, Kola's own baptism entry of 2 December 1888, which reads 'Geboren 23 Nov: 1888'. A contemporaneous register beats a 1961 informant. Worth noting that PP-000276 records this model ONCE holding 23 October 1888 and correcting it in September - so this form is very probably where that old date came from in the first place. (2) PLACE OF BIRTH WILLISTON: he was baptised at Calvinia and PP-000276 holds Calvinia at high confidence. NEITHER FIELD IS ACTED ON. The burial entry, WILLISTON, agrees with GRV-1454 in the Williston old town cemetery.
