[22 Sep 2026] Found looking for Welbedagt about 1790. AMONG THE MONEY OWED TO THE ESTATE: 'van Joh:s Ernst Terblanche Steph:z weg:s koop der opstal van de plaats WELBEDAGT - 300:--' , so a son bought the opstal of a Welbedagt from his father. WHICH WELBEDAGT IS NOT STATED [TO VERIFY] - the name is common at the Cape and MOOC8 holds nine others - but this household is in OUTENIQUALAND, next door to the Attaquaskloof, which makes PAR-000277 a real candidate and would fill the gap between Marthinus Oosthuysen's widow in 1792 and Johannes Petrus Wagener in 1821. The estate itself: the loan place Melkhoute Kraal 'gel: aan de Neysena in 't Oute Niqualand', 16 horses, 42 draught oxen, 133 cattle, 508 sheep, twelve enslaved people named with their origins, and nine heirs - Johannes Ernst, Dorothea Maria (m. Daniel Petrus Marais), STEPHANUS ESAIAS, Petrus, Petronella, SALOMON, Hester, Maria Johanna and Johan Fredrik ter Blanche. Salomon and Stephanus Esaias are the names that turn up on the Olifants rolls a generation later (SRC-638, SRC-644 to 648), which is the same family this project keeps meeting on Modder/Moeras Fontyn.
