The citation as it was given
[22 Sep 2026] A transcription and collation of Cape records from 1652, covering enslaved and free-black inhabitants as well as settlers. Each page cites its originals (NGK G1 1/1 registers, MOOC, CJ, Council of Policy, Boeseken's Slaves and Free Blacks, Hattingh). SECONDARY: the facts are cited here with the page, and the originals it names are the evidence to pull. The compiler's copyright notice permits facts with citation but not reuse of her narrative or citation text, so this project paraphrases. Read for LEAD-0076: pages found for eight of the ten people named there.
Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
