This project held only her mother, JOHANNA BARENDINA VISSER (PER-000791). The index names that woman as the WIDOW OF ABRAHAM CHRISTOFFEL, so Aletta Francina's father was Abraham Christoffel Bothma. | WHICH Abraham Christoffel is an inference and is marked as one. The FamilySearch card for Stephanus Botma (1730-1789) and ALETTA FRANSINA MOUTON lists a son ABRAHAM CHRISTOFFEL BOTHMA, born 1759 (LRS3-FSC), and he is the only bearer of that name old enough to father a daughter in 1794: the other two on the cards are born 1808 and 1833. IF IT HOLDS, Aletta Francina is a FIRST COUSIN of Lodewyk Bothma of Spreeufontein, exactly as LEAD-0319 predicted, and her name comes straight from the shared grandmother. [TO VERIFY: the estate file itself, vol. 112 no. 120]. | THE THIRD LINE IS THE DOCUMENT LEAD-0320 ASKED FOR. Stephanus Botma died in 1830 and his estate is vol. 111 no. 60. That file would give his RESIDENCE, which is the one thing that would settle which Spreeufontein the family was on. It is not read here. | A NOTE ON THE MOTHER'S DATES. This project holds Johanna Barendina Visser as born before 1 July 1753, which would make her about forty-one at Aletta Francina's birth in 1794. That is inside the project's own MOTHER_MAX_AGE of 42 and it is at the edge of it, so either the birth bound or the parentage deserves a second look. | [28 Aug 2026] layer corrected from 'index', which is not one of the four the vocabulary allows. Both are finding aids compiled from originals rather than the originals themselves, which is what derivative means here.
