What can be said is that two of the farm names here - KRUYS RIVIER and BUFFEL RIVIER - sit among the names SRC-525 read in the VELDKORNETSKAP OLIPHANTS RIVIER of George volume J 91, where Frans also read KRUISRIVIER and BUFFELSKLIP.

The morgen and roods run alongside - 30/20, 50/10, 92/93, 8/8. | *** THAT BRACE IS WORTH NOTING ON ITS OWN: one household holding THREE places, grouped under one river. *** | *** AND IT IS THE EXACT FORM OF THIS FAMILY'S OWN ENTRY. *** SRC-522, the George roll of 1811, reads their holding as '1 Plaats | [?Winkhoop] geleegen by het [?Brak] Water AAN OLYPHANTS RIVIER'. Farm, then the water, then the river - the same construction these rows use. So the instrument LEAD-0294 went looking for is not hypothetical: it is the column this ward's rolls actually keep, and it gives a distance in hours as well as a name.
