VENTER, adult present at death, of Market Street, Prince Albert'. | CONFIRMS the death date this model holds for PER-000384, 7 April 1917, and the age agrees with a birth in 1854. | *** THE GRAVE WAS ALREADY HERE AND THIS NOTE FIRST FAILED TO SAY SO. GRV-0551 HOLDS HIM - Petrus Jacobus Theron 1854-1917, PRINCE ALBERT NG KERK CEMETERY, already linked to PER-000384, and an eGGSA caption reads 'THERON Petrus Jacobus 1854-1917' at that ground. So this document CORROBORATES a burial the project had all along; it does not report a new one. *** | HE DIED IN TOWN, NOT ON THE FARM, AND HE IS NOT BURIED AT RONDABEL. 'Retired farmer', living in Luttig Street, buried in the Prince Albert D.R. cemetery. His first wife Cecilia Maria du Plessis died on Rondavel in 1895 and was buried on the ground (DOC-0333, GRV-0021); he outlived her by twenty-two years, remarried, and lies twenty-odd kilometres away. That closes one guess about the second unread grave at the Rondabel werf - LEAD-0011 - it is not him. | 'PIET JACOBUS' IS THE NOEMNAAM ON AN OFFICIAL FORM. 5b: Piet is the everyday form of Petrus, and this model calls him Petrus Jacobus. Neither is a correction of the other and both are kept - but it is worth noting that by 1917 the clerk wrote what people called him. | THE INFORMANT IS A VENTER, which is not nothing: his second wife was ISABELLA LOUISA JACOBA VENTER (PER-001345). C.H. Venter of Market Street was 'adult present at death' and is very likely her kin. NOT identified - initials alone, and 9 forbids it. | The attending doctor was P.C. LUTTIG and he died in LUTTIG STREET; the Luttigs are a Prince Albert family and the street is presumably theirs. Noted, not claimed.
