Naude KLYN ROGGEVELD'. | *** THIS IS THE CO-GRANTEE OF RONDABEL AS AN INFANT. *** PER-000047, Stephanus Johannes Theron, took Rondabel on perpetual quitrent with Jan Adriaan Oosthuizen on 21 January 1868 and died at Willowmore in 1879. The register puts his family in the KLEIN ROGGEVELD - a wyk of Laingsburg, about 150 km north-west of Klaarstroom - forty years before the grant. His person row carried 'Roggeveld' at LOW confidence from the family-tree; this is the register saying which Roggeveld. | THE BIRTH DATE DISAGREES BY A DAY: the register says born 3 SEPTEMBER 1828 and this model has carried 1828-09-04. A register beats a compiled tree, so the row is corrected to 1828-09-03 and the old value recorded here. | A SISTER THIS MODEL DOES NOT HOLD: the entry immediately above is ANNA MARIA, born 13 January 1827, same parents, same veldcornetcy, witnesses Petrus Jacobus Theron, Susanna Aletta Cerf[?], Gerrit Jacobus Cotzee, Anna Maria Theron. Recorded here rather than given a row - she is a Roggeveld birth outside this district and 9a bounds the prequel ground. LEAD-0274. | THE OPENING ALSO NAMES OTHER VELDCORNETCIES and they are worth having as a set: A.J.J. Botes KLYN ZWARTBERG, A. Smit MIDDEL ROGGEVELD, P.J. Naude MIDDEL ROGGEVELD. So Klein and Middel Roggeveld and Klein Zwartberg were being administered side by side in 1828.
