It is an INDEX entry (1:1); the image ark is not yet held. | WHY THIS MARRIAGE CARRIES WEIGHT FAR BEYOND THE COUPLE: the bride is a sister of DAVID JAN STRYDOM, granted RONDABEL in 1841 (SRC-543 names her parents), and the groom is a brother of OCKERT ALMERO OOSTHUIZEN of Middelwater, whose son JAN ADRIAAN took Rondabel from that same David Jan by 1868. This one entry is the join between the Olifants ground and the Koup ground. | UITENHAGE IS ITSELF EVIDENCE OF WHERE THEY WERE. It is 119 km from Bruintjieshoogte and roughly 260 km from the Olifants place the household is enrolled on in 1811 - so the wedding was held at the BRIDE'S end of the colony, which is ordinary and is worth saying because it means the groom travelled east to marry.
